Notice of Election
Elections for all of Northumberland’s parish councils take place on 1 May 2025. If you would like to stand as a candidate for Carham Parish Council, please see the official Notice of Election, which explains how nomination papers can be obtained, how they must be returned, and exactly when they must be returned by. You can obtain a nomination pack from the Parish Clerk on 01890 850 336, but if you have a query about the process, please contact Northumberland County Council’s Elections Office on 01670 624 811.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Monday 10 March 2025 at 6.30 pm in St Cuthbert’s Church, Carham. Please note the change of day from Tuesday to Monday.

Bus Service Consultation
Our local County Councillor, Mark Mather, is holding a consultation on bus services in the Wooler Ward on Tuesday 28 January. This will take place in Kirknewton Village Hall from 11 am to 12.30 pm, and then in the Cheviot Centre in Wooler from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. These are drop-in events at which you can meet representatives from Northumberland County Council and give them your views on our local bus services. Everyone is welcome.

All parishioners are welcome to attend. Parishioners questions are answered before the main meeting proceedings begin. If you have a question for the Parish Council, please send this to the Parish Clerk in advance of the meeting. The Parish Clerk can ask the question on your behalf or, if you attend the meeting, you can ask your question in person.
Christmas Carols
This year’s carol service at St Cuthbert’s church, Carham, will be on Sunday 22 December at 11 am. On Christmas day, Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer) will be held at the church at 9.30 am. Everyone is welcome, and the church will be beautifully decorated with seasonal displays of greenery. For further information, contact churchwarden Peter Straker-Smith on 01890 830 316.
Next Footpaths Group Walk
The walk originally planned for 23 November is now taking place on Saturday 14 December. It starts at 10 am from Cornhill Village Hall. For details, see the poster on our Walks page.
Footpaths Group Walk Cancelled
Tomorrow’s walk from Cornhill to Barley Hill has been cancelled, as bad weather is forecast. It will be re-arranged at a later date.
Next Footpaths Group Walk
The next walk organised by the footpaths group will be on Saturday 23 November 2024, starting at 10 am. This is a linear walk of 4.5 miles, from Cornhill to Barley Hill. Return transport will be provided for those who do not want to return on foot. Everyone welcome, including well-behaved dogs on leads. For more information, see the poster on our Walks page.
