The Anglican Church of St Cuthbert is in the hamlet of Carham. For a little of its history, see Church, Chapels and a Graveyard.
St Cuthbert’s is part of Norham Deanery, in the Diocese of Newcastle. Services are shared with two other local churches – St Helen’s in Cornhill on Tweed, and St Paul’s in Branxton.
The normal pattern of services is:
1st Sunday of the month | ||
St Paul’s Church, Branxton | 9.30 | Holy Communion |
St Helen’s Church, Cornhill | 11.00 | Morning Worship |
2nd Sunday of the month | ||
St Paul’s Church, Branxton | 10.30 | Morning Worship |
St Cuthbert’s Church, Carham | 11.00 | Morning Worship |
3rd Sunday of the month | ||
St Paul’s Church, Branxton | 9.30 | Holy Communion |
St Helen’s Church, Cornhill | 11.00 | Holy Communion |
4th Sunday of the month | ||
St Paul’s Church, Branxton | 10.30 | Morning Worship |
St Cuthbert’s Church, Carham | 11.00 | Morning Worship |
A joint service – usually 11.00 am Morning Worship – is held on the 5th Sunday of the month at one of the three churches.
Services may not follow the above pattern at Easter, on Armistice Day and at Christmas.
- Churches of other denominations can be found in nearby communities and in centres of population such as Coldstream, Kelso, Wooler and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
