Vacancies for Parish Councillors

Following the resignations from Carham Parish Council of Pat Feerick and Victoria Poland, there are now two vacancies for Parish Councillors. The official notices below explain the procedure for filling these vacancies.

Vacancy on Carham Parish Council

Carham Parish Council is currently in a position to co-opt a new councillor. This is a voluntary position. A councillor’s task is to bring local issues to the attention of the council, and help it make decisions on behalf of the local community. Training is available to assist councillors to develop skills and knowledge.

The Northumberland County Council and National Association of Local Councils websites provide prospective candidates with an insight into understanding roles and responsibilities.

Carham Parish Council meets six times a year, in alternate months beginning in May, on the second Tuesday of those months, in St Cuthbert’s Church, Carham at 6.30pm.
