Carham Parish Defibs will be at Cornhill Village Fair this coming Sunday, 20 July, to raise money for the parish’s defibrillator fund. This year you will find us running the Grand Raffle, which has prizes generously donated by the Collingwood Arms, Cornhill Village Shop, the Masons Arms in Norham, Café Maelmin in Milfield, Rickerby, Moonwake Beer Co, Greenwoods 24/7, and Border Spirits & Botanicals, as well as by individuals in the parish. If you are not able to get to Sunday’s event, raffle tickets are available now at Cornhill Village Shop. Tickets are £1 each and all profits will go towards buying and installing public access defibrillators in Carham parish. Cornhill Village Fair is from 12 to 3 pm, and the raffle draw is at 2.30 pm. Please come along to support us, if you can!

Raffle Draw
The draw for Carham Parish Defibs’ Big Summer Raffle will be tomorrow, Saturday 31 August, at 11.00 in Cornhill Village Hall. Doors open at 10.30. Tea, coffee and scones will be available, by donation, and last-minute raffle tickets can be bought before the draw takes place.
After the draw, at about 11.15, there will be a CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) and defibrillator demonstration. If you live in the parish and you are planning to apply for a public access defibrillator for your community, this is an opportunity to come along and see how these life-saving procedures are carried out, and ask any questions you have about them.
Everyone is welcome to this event, which is expected to finish by 12.00.

Coming Up This Sunday
As we hope you know by now, we are holding a car boot sale plus classic car and bike show at Carham farm steading on Sunday 16 July. Admission is £3, with children under 12 free of charge, and the event opens at 9 am. Soft drinks, teas and coffees and burgers will be on sale for those who come along a bit later in the morning, and the event will wind up in the early afternoon. This event is to raise money for life-saving public-access defibrillators for communities throughout the parish. Please show your support by coming along. And if you’d like to help us raise more money, we’d welcome any fresh garden produce that you can spare, your fresh home baking, home-made preserves or any small plants that you’d like to donate. All of these will be sold on our plant and produce stall, with 100% of the proceeds going to the defibrillator fund. You can bring them along on the day, or we can collect from within the parish. Contact us for more information.
Invitation
If you live in Carham parish, look out for an invitation that is being distributed to all households this weekend. This is for a special event on Monday 3 April 2023, from 7 pm to 8.30 pm at Cornhill Village Hall. The event is to tell you about the project to get life-saving public access defibrillators into communities across the parish. There will be refreshments and plenty of time for socialising with friends and neighbours, too. If you live in the parish but are not able to come along, please see if a neighbour can attend so that your community is represented. The event is being funded by Carham Parish Council. For more information, contact the Parish Clerk.
